If you’re sexually active, regular testing is an important part of protecting your health. Many people choose to get tested once a year, or sooner if they have a new partner or notice any symptoms. Routine testing helps protect both you and your partner.

Chlamydia and gonorrhea can affect a pregnancy if they go untreated. In some cases, these infections can be passed to a baby during pregnancy or delivery and may lead to health complications.
The good news is that testing during pregnancy helps identify infections early so appropriate medical care can be provided. If you test positive, we can help you understand what that means and connect you with medical providers for treatment and follow-up care.
-
If you’re concerned about an STD we don’t test for, our team can talk with you about your symptoms and help you understand next steps. While we currently test for chlamydia and gonorrhea, we can provide referrals to medical providers or the local health department for additional testing or treatment. We’ll help you understand your options and get connected to appropriate care—confidentially and without judgment.
-
Your results are shared with you privately and confidentially. When results are available, a member of our team will review them with you and explain next steps, if needed. Positive results are required by NM state law to be reported to the NM Health Department.
