Parenting Classes

High Desert Women’s Center offers parenting classes designed to support you through pregnancy and early parenthood. These classes provide practical education, encouragement, and a place to learn at your own pace—without pressure or judgment.

Classes cover topics such as pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, postpartum care, newborn care, parenting skills, and goal setting. Additional group sessions may include budgeting, nutrition, life skills, and personal growth.

Classes are available both online and in person. Online classes allow you to learn on your own schedule, while in-person classes offer a supportive environment to ask questions and connect with others.

Participation in classes may also allow you to earn baby items through the center’s baby boutique, with resources typically available from birth through toddler years.

Some childcare is available during in-person classes.

Baby Boutique

High Desert Women’s Center offers a Baby Boutique where clients can earn points to purchase baby supplies and essentials by participating in classes. Available items may include clothing, diapers, and other baby necessities, based on current availability.

Clients earn credits through participation in approved classes and programs, which can be redeemed in the Baby Boutique. Items and credit guidelines vary, and supplies are available while they last. Resources are typically available from birth through toddler years.

Community Referrals

High Desert Women’s Center connects clients with trusted community resources for additional support beyond our in-house services. Referrals are based on individual needs and provided in a respectful, confidential way.

Community referrals may include connections to:

• Prenatal and medical care providers
• Adoption resources
• Counseling and emotional support services
• Domestic violence advocacy and safety resources
• Financial, housing, and legal assistance
• WIC, Medicaid, and other public benefit programs
• Transportation assistance
• Help obtaining identification or birth certificates
• Job readiness and life skills support
• Faith-based and community support groups, when requested

Our team helps you understand available options and next steps, so you don’t have to navigate resources alone.

For Men

Support for men is an active part of the care offered at High Desert Women’s Center. Partners are welcome to attend appointments, creating space to receive information, ask questions, and be involved throughout pregnancy and parenting.

Additional support for men includes guidance around building healthy relationships, parenting education, and how to support their partner through pregnancy and birth. These services are provided by inviting men to attend appointments and participate in classes tailored to their situation. We offer self-paced online classes in addition to a Dad's zoom class.
