If you’ve had sex recently and missed your period—or something just feels different—it’s understandable to wonder what’s going on.   ## **Early Pregnancy Signs & Symptoms** Every pregnancy is different, but many people notice similar changes early on. You might find yourself thinking: - Did I miss my period? - I feel nauseated or queasy. - My breasts feel sore or sensitive. - I’m using the bathroom more often. - I feel unusually tired. - My emotions feel more intense than usual.   If you’re reading this, there’s a good chance your body is sending signals that have you asking, *“Am I pregnant?”*   It’s also possible to be pregnant even if you’ve noticed some bleeding. Light spotting—sometimes called implantation bleeding—can happen early in pregnancy and is different from a regular period. ### **How to Find Out If You’re Pregnant** Symptoms can offer clues, but the only way to know for sure is with a pregnancy test. #### **Pregnancy Testing** A pregnancy test looks for a hormone called hCG, which is produced during pregnancy. When taken at the right time, these tests are highly accurate. Depending on your results and eligibility, [you may also be able to receive an ultrasound](https://highdesertwomenscenter.org/free-ultrasounds) the same day or at a follow-up appointment. #### **Ultrasound** An ultrasound provides important information beyond a positive pregnancy test. It can: - Confirm that the pregnancy is located in the uterus - Help determine how far along the pregnancy is - Identify whether the pregnancy is progressing This information can be helpful when considering next steps and understanding your options. ### **Online Pregnancy Help** If you need help confirming a pregnancy, scheduling a free test, or learning more about ultrasound services, High Desert Women’s Center is here for you.
